Jealous of all the pampering your kitty gets everyday? Every admire their beautiful clean litter box? Well here’s an idea for you!

On one day, and one day only as honorary cat staff, you can create your only completely editable and sanitary Litter Box Cake!!

Essentially get a litter box (preferably unused), mix in some white cake and chocolate cake, add chocolate pieces and BOOM done!

Step by step instructions can vary, but if you REALLY need more guidance, first gather the magic materials:

  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)

  • 1 box of white cake mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)

  • 1 large box (5.1 oz) of instant vanilla pudding mix (plus ingredients called for on the box)

  • 1 package (12 oz) of vanilla sandwich cookies (like Golden Oreos)

  • 1 package of small chewy chocolate candies (like Tootsie Rolls)

  • 1 new, clean plastic litter box and scoop (I guess)

Then, do the following:

  1. Prepare the cakes – by following the directions on the boxes

  2. Make the pudding – by following the directions on the box

  3. Prepare the “litter” – crumble them cookies

  4. Assemble the cake – Once the cakes are completely cool, crumble them into a large bowl. Add the plain cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. How much you add of each is up to you to get the right texture and proportions you like best and is most visually “appealing. “

  5. Place in the litter box – Pour the cake mixture into the new litter box, spreading it evenly…or add the illusion of paw prints and “recent use.”

  6. Shape and add the “tootsie rolls” – Unwrap the Tootsie Rolls. To make them look more realistic, microwave a few at a time for about 10 seconds to soften them. You can then bend or slightly curve them and press the ends to make them look less blunt.

  7. Serve – Place the new litter scoop in the cake and serve. Enjoy the looks of delight before everyone digs in!

If you give this recipe a try, or have your own delicious version, share in the comments below! I’m interested in hearing how human staff mimic their superiors and in what ways.
